Aurora Day School has almost completed our first half of Summer Camp! We have had a blast with new campers and staff. Our first two week camp entitled, Creative Expression’s Camp was a huge hit with both campers and parents. The two week camp ended with a wonderful Talent and Art Show. Now we are coming to the end of our ”Splishin’ & Splashin’ Camp”, always a favorite amongst the campers, we have had so much fun outdoors with our water activities! The campers have enjoyed such activities as Water Day/Field Day. Each camper participated in events designed to give them excercise while staying cool outdoors. Campers have enjoyed learning excercises from the Super Body Super Brain program, and morning Brain Gym activities. We have created a huge Ocean Student picture that will surely be enjoyed by the campers & families when they take them home. To end the week on a joyous note we have a special day of outdoor water slides and water balloon games.
Each Aurora summer program not only offers tons of fun. We also accelerate learning for children, teens and young adults. These programs build brain function and provide a strong foundation for reading, math, attention, listening and general learning. Gifted and typical learners, along with learners who have learning challenges, will accelerate their learning; and typically we’ll see academic gains of 1-3 years during the summer camp programs. Aurora utilizes standardized pre-and post- testing to show the measurable gains achieved by all learners.

- Instructions

- First, skewer mini ice-cream sandwiches on popsicle sticks.
- Then, press the exposed filling into a plate of sprinkles or nonpareils.
- To keep mess to a minimum, serve the pops in colorful cupcake liners.

Hello world! Those were the words made famous by one Tiger Woods when he joined the professional golf tour many years ago. While I am no Tiger Woods, I would like to take a moment and introduce myself and say Hello. My name is Matthew Tarpley and I am the new Headmaster at the Aurora Day School’s main campus in Tucker, GA. I am coming to Aurora from Gwinnett County Public Schools where I have spent the past 8 years in the special education department. I am also a husband, father of 3 children, and a former business owner. I am very excited about the future for Aurora and would like to invite you all to stop by for a visit to see and hear about some of the exciting things happening here at Aurora.
